A near-complete transliteration of the Voynich Manuscript in extended EVA, maintained by René Zandbergen. It is the principal current extended-EVA lineage and records alternative readings, uncertain spaces, and drawing intrusions.

Origin and purpose

René Zandbergen's part of the EVMT transliteration effort undertaken with Gabriel Landini, subsequently improved over many years and published at voynich.nu. The "L" in the code acknowledges Gabriel Landini's contribution.

   ZL 3b current

   Relative to 2b the text is unchanged apart from the fRos locus 36 correction made in 3a, and the file now conforms to IVTFF 2.0 (upstream note 25). The Depot counts 4 fewer loci than 2b (f1r 31 to 28, f89v2 28 to 27).

2. 2022-12-25
   ZL 2b superseded

   Minor correction of 2a affecting only the $I page variable on some text-only pages (upstream note 25).

Source notes

• 2026-09-27 — Release 3a is described in the upstream notes (same text as 2b except that an invalid use of '*' for an unreadable character in fRos locus 36 was corrected), but no 3a file is offered for download. The Depot registers 2b and 3b, the two downloadable files, and records 3a here rather than inventing a file for it. source
